Eldric's plan sounds good to me as well.
Sabrina will be taking ranks in profession soldier later on to improve her ability to survey a battlefield and organize troops and tactics.

Damn these Demonic plagues hindering the forces of Righteousness!
(But that's a majority, so we'll continue on once I get everything set up later today)

Rules question for GM.
If we face off against a demon or the like in the future with horns, and if I take Profession Boyer...could I modify my heirloom composite longbow into being a hornbow?
The image just hit me as being pretty cool, to make the remains of such an enemy into a personalized weapon. Mechanically it'd mean decreasing range, increasing damage, and it would require a feat to use without penalty. But if it is possible, then I'll keep an eye out for such a trophy and will put the skills/Feat into my build plan.

Sure, that's a nice little touch. Though I will warn you that you're probably not going to be fighting something with Horns suitable to turn into a bow for a while. We're talking around level 5-ish.

Eldric Lightbringer |

That sounds perfectly fine to me. It'll mean that I can get 3 ranks in profession boyer (+10 so he can take 10 for a 20 on craft check) and at lvl5 he can get the required feat.
And thank you. I'm glad that his bow can grow with him in this way so that it becomes unique (and truly worthy of continuing to be a family heirloom)

GM Ahnuld |

Can I post now or is there one mongrelman that goes before me? I wasn't sure which got killed.
The one still alive is the one between you and Sabrina, but I just posted his turn, so you're up now.
I'll try to be a little better about indicating which character is which on the map and in the turn tracker. I'll put numbers on them from here on out, at least for the multiple-of-one kinds.

GM Ahnuld |

Sorry, my computer decided it didn't like processing things today. I'm still waiting for Sabrina to post again, but if I don't get anything by the time I wake up "tomorrow", I'll just move on.

Suggestion for initiative, to keep combat moving quickly.
Every PC rolls initiative, and you take the average. The party simply goes together. Example...
Cultist 1: Initiative 20
Cultist 2: Initiative 19
Party Average: Initiative 16
Cultist 3: Initiative 14
Cultist 4: Initiative 10
Cultist 5: Initiative 6
So cultists 1 and 2 go first. Then the entire party goes. Then cultists 3-5 go, and the turn restarts with cultists 1 and 2.
This eliminates situations where a PC goes, then an NPC, then another two PCs, then more NPCs. It just makes it all faster.

Block initiative is what I personally use. Roll initiative for the bad guys in groups, most combats this will be the same number. For example, goblins go on 15. PC's try to beat the 15 initiative. Those that do get to go before the goblins. Those that don't have to go after. This doesn't hamper sneak attackers or initiative builds and doesn't slow things down very much at all.
In those rare fights with multiple types or different initiatives, use an average or the higher of the two. These will happen less in most campaigns but may still come up frequently in this one, such as in the current fight.
In block initiative, winning initiative only really matters in the first round and then it becomes us vs. them. I typically resolve in order people posted but I've seen others that resolve in initiative order. Whatever your preference.

GM Ahnuld |

I'm going to hold off on changing how I run Initiative mechanically until the end of this area. There are problems with that kind of approach (Especially once you guys start running into Mythic enemies that get more than one turn's worth of actions per round!), but I'll look into it. For now, I'm just going to include Roll20's initiative tracker in each of the screenshots I take of the map.
Also, yikes that came close to outright killing Sabrina. It needed the nat 20, got exactly her AC to confirm, and then rolled 1 less than her perma-dead HP in damage on 8d4+12. I'm not writing off Sabrina's player as lost just yet (I'm giving her one more week before I formally drop her from the game), but if I don't hear back soon, this wound is going to require some long-term healing and care from Sarah, so the two of them will probably wind up heading back to Neathholm for rest and recuperation once I have replacements.

That's alright. I was just wondering if you forgot about us.

Attack of opportunity for standing or dragging? Curious before I post.
Moving out of a threatened Square. The Cultist with a Glaive has 10ft reach, so she is currently threatening the square you are standing in. Since you need to move more than 5ft to get to Sabrina, you would provoke an AoO for leaving that square.

GM Ahnuld |

Work and Life's been a bit busy for me in the last week or so, but I should be able to respond a little more frequently now.
And I'll bot Sabrina for a while if it becomes necessary in the future, hopefully not getting her almost killed again in the process!

hi guys, I am still around. lost internet for a couple days, (actually still no internet except for what I am "borrowing" from the neighbors.
cable guys coming this weekend to fix everything

GM Ahnuld |

Yeah, I am, but you probably should anyways. Sorry guys, but I don't think I can run this up anymore, a combination of everything in my life exploding at once and my work's new internet policies meaning that I can't actually access Paizo.com from there. Sorry.
For the record, just about everything up to now has been right out of the AP, so its not like you'd be missing much switching GM's.

Happy new years. third times the charm they say, or curse of the cave in the case of this adventure.
If there is a new Dm, I'd recommend we just skip the cave portion.
Also would anyone be in favour of a rebuild? If we can find a dm that would allow gestalt and mythic that would be amazing and it would probably be easier to rebalance the encounters.

Caisramriel |

Zen's aren't too bad. Playing a zen archer/ninja in a gestalt mythic game. Flurry gets boring but the sheer amount attacks with mythic is disgusting
