Over the past few years we've seen a rise in the number of so-called "D&D-tubers", Youtube channels that (in the wake of projects like Matthew Mercer and Stranger Thing's influence) have taken the concepts of the game not just as a game, but as an experience to be shared or as a way to make content that's "relevant" to a wider audience than just the people you're personally gaming with. And, despite being a reasonable runner-up for second place of popularity, I can't say I've seen much of anything in that regard for Pathfinder outside of the occasional bone we've been given by XPtoLevel3 where he'll do skits and videos doing compare/contrasts between D&D5e and PF2e.
While I do appreciate his content, I feel like the game can be used as a focus for more, and as someone who likes to put their money where their mouth is, I've made a Youtube channel where I've combined my two passions: Pathfinder (specifically 1e) and Vtubing. For me, the reason for this is obvious: Vtubers (especially Western streamers) tend to have fairly intricate, often magical lore behind the design of their avatars, and as such many of their fans see fit to create content (or support the creator to fund their own) that, when seen through the right lens, could easily be converted into a tabletop setting.
As such, for the past two or so years I've been crafting character sheets "converting" almost 100 of these streamers into creature sheets, mimicking Paizo's style and utilizing a mix of creature build rules, "creature with class level"s, PC class builds, and when literally nothing else will do, the occasional full blown homebrew. This is all well and good, but I've desired for more, because I truly believe these worlds can collide even if both sides may not see it yet. Thus, I've also gone one step further, and have begun creating my own "PF-tuber" content, the first of which being a video "converting" a well known fan animation from the Hololive fandom into a mostly round-by-round battle, and, more recently, a second video going into detail on the logic of why I made the choices I did for a build.
Now granted, this whole project has an additional layer that may put people off with the fact that (if any of you have seen the linked content) I've chosen to do all of this from an in-character perspective as one of my older characters Thead, but even outside of this slight hurdle (many "D&D-tubers" often use personas, see Pointy Hat, older XPtoLevel3 skits, or even the animated videos by Zee Bashew) I think this is a relatively minor point of contention that many people are happy to buy into so long as the content is interesting.
I dunno, what do you all think? Do you think that Pathfinder could benefit from having this sort of presence in the space, and if so do you think I'm helping or hindering that cause? I'd genuinely like to hear feedback from other people that may be interested, and as well I'd love to hear if there is anyone else that's doing anything even remotely like this so we can potentially "spread the love" in a way that might benefit the hobby as a whole.
