Hey all! I played PF1e a long time ago and didn’t get much into the lore at the time. I’m back with PF2e and am currently devouring the Lost Omens campaign setting books. I did have a couple questions about the lore I haven’t run across the answers to yet.
1. What changed with goblins that they’re not bad guys anymore and where do I read about that?
2. Who or what killed Aroden and where do I find out about that?
3. What is the Godsrain and also where do I read about that?
Thanks in advance for the help!

1. Age of Ashes AP and We Be Goblins adventures/ adventure path detail how some tribes became accepted but these and other books hint that slowly, over time, more and more goblins have found themselves fulfilling useful niches in broader societies.
2. Nobody knows how Aroden died. It is meant to be a perpetual mystery.
3. There’s a book called Godsrain, other books War of Immortals and Divine Mysteries. All about the Death of Gorum.

It's that several groups realized that being little s*+@s and getting killed all the time was bad and perhaps those few goblins who DID NOT do that had something going for them.
It's also not like all goblins were always presented as being monolithically evil antisocial creatures; it's just that the Varisian (and Goblinblood War) goblins that got the most focus were pretty close to that. Non-evil, happily-in-society goblins were canon in PF1 within a year or two of the system first being published, but people tend to remember the Rise of the Runelord goblins more than others.

Also those first scenes where they're rather gruesome little critters. Add the sidebar (IIRC) emphasized to play their feral aspects up so PCs respected them as villains (coming from them being peons throughout RPG history).
