So with "Battlecry!" and the remastered Aldori Duelist, what does everyone do with the Sword Scion background? It used to be to get the pre-reqs for Aldori Duelist, but now it's not needed and redundant. Want the flavour of the background, but it needs mechanical changes.
My initial thought is to leave the flavour/attributes, but the skill and stuff use "Martial Disciple." Its own flavour still fits for someone who's been dreaming of being an Aldori Duelist, and would preserve the same Lore Skill, as well as focuses on the two Aldori Duelist Dedication skill options.
"You're trained in your choice of either the Acrobatics or Athletics skill, as well as the Warfare Lore skill. You gain a skill feat: Cat Fall if you chose Acrobatics or Quick Jump if you chose Athletics."
Figured this would be easier than making up something from scratch. But then you don't get the sword access/familiarity until you get the archetype, which might be fine narratively.
RAW Milestone Leveling you don't get level 2 until after you've already left Brevoy and don't really come back until level 4, so strict training requirements would stunt the PCs progression into the Aldori Duelist. My thought is that (as long as the PC hasn't made a negative impression) Jamandi is impressed by the Sword Scion character during the final fight at the manor and offers to train them. If accepted, she gifts her new apprentice with an Aldori Dueling Sword when they swear the Swordpact. No need for access at creation; they just don't have one for the manor encounters.
