"Are you him?"

"Fire bad?"

"Holy crap, the running joke is finally over!"

"You two! Bearenstein's Bear! Come with us!"

Basil Bearenstein was an unusually ambitious Gnome in the Chainsomething Bear series of companies. After finding outside investors, he (eventually) perfected a process of fully converting a Chainsomething Bear into a pure Construct. Which promptly escaped after burning down the lab with all of Basil's notes in it. The Bear now takes odd jobs, constantly on the move. He occasionally steps in to solve 'problems'. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find him... maybe you can hire Bearenstein's Bear.

Improved Grab (Ex): To use this ability, Bearenstein's Bear must hit with a claw attack. It can then attempt to start a grapple as a free action without provoking an attack of opportunity. If it is successful, it can use it's Choke.

Choke (Ex): Bearenstein's Bear can choke victims to death with a successful Grapple Check (assuming their target is living and has a neck). This does it's normal Claw damage plus one and a half times Str modifier, and the target must hold it's breath or begin to suffocate (see DMG).

Bearenstein's Bear!: If the Bearenstein's Bear is reduced to 0 hit points it is dead. However, if it's body takes at least 10 points of electricity damage (I know it's immune to electricity, but if the attack would have done this much), it sets back up with 5 hit points, resurrected. Unlike other Constructs, the Bearenstein Bear can heal wounds normally.

Immunity to Magic (Ex): A Bearenstein's Bear is immune to any spell or spell-like ability that allows spell resistance.

Combat: Unless you have fire, the Bear does the classic Frankenstein's lurch towards you and tries to take you out the old fashioned way: choking.

Running into this is a grizzly prospect.
