Help With Secrets of the Unlit Star

Hi!

I am still waiting for the arrival of the new Beginner Box: Secrets of the Unlit Star.

BUT...I bought the Foundry VTT content and gave it a bit of a test spin over the weekend. It's good and they do an interesting job of easing players into the various mechanics.

BUT...I really can't wrap my head around the layout of the Temple of the Unlit Star. Maybe there's an old school side-view image of the temple in relation to the surface of the ground in the hard copy version of the Beginner Box?

But like...if someone wants to explain it to me here...that would be lovely?

+ The PCs clearly enter at ground level.

+ The malfunctioning lift collapses and drops them twenty or thirty feet. (height doesn't really matter at this point.)

+ PCs explore the attached balcony that overlooks a main temple like area but presently can't access or look at due to a black, spooky curtain of evil shadow magic.

+ PCs enter another attached malfunctioning lift. They fix it and it lowers another (guessing) 20 or 30 feet allowing them to explore the rest of the temple.

+ PCs eventually enter the aforementioned main temple area where the previously explored balcony overlooks. (but cannot because of the shadow magic curtain)

+ PCs eventually discover a third "lift" in the main temple area that will lift them up to the "second floor" of the temple.

+ PCs eventually get to the rooftop of the temple for the fight against the main boss. This is what breaks my brain...

+ + + Is the fight on the rooftop still underground?

+ + + Has the whole temple sunk underground?

+ + + Or is it sticking above ground and can be seen? Can it be climbed up to?

+ + + What sort of structure involving the first collapsing lift is above the ground for them to access?

+ + + Is the rooftop the only way for the PCs to get back to the surface?

Also, to answer your questions, the temple is mostly sunk. We actually will have a video of staff playing a portion of the adventure up on YouTube that will better explain how it all looks soon! That could be helpful to you as well!

I think I've figured it out but it would indeed be enjoyable to watch you guys playing it.
