Public Playtest for the Cracked Vessel Martial Discipline Begins!
That which was broken can be made anew. Not all damage is unintentional. Only through breaking one's limits and repairing the cracks can one grow. Shattered bodies and minds remade with brilliant strength.
Hello Everyone! Welcome to the Playtest for the Cracked Vessel martial discipline! Cracked Vessel is a martial discipline focused around making sacrifices and taking on burdens in order to change the course of battle in a climactic moment. It has two unique conditions called Shattered and Kintsugi, the first is gained when the initiator chooses to sacrifice martial maneuvers, taking on penalties and removing those maneuvers from their readied pool. Then they initiate a Kintsugi effect to remove the penalties and surge forth with greater purpose.
Inside this playtest you will find:
- The Cracked Vessel Martial Discipline
- A brand new martial tradition- The Resplendent Sculptors
- New Style Feats for the Cracked Vessel discipline and several hybrid feats designed to connect it to other disciplines
- New Title and Dao veils associated with the discipline- The Joining and Sigil of Defiance, granting users a chance at akashic power (using akashic magic system originally from Dreamscarred Press)
- New class archetypes and options focused around the idea of sacrifice for a future goal

[U][bigger]-Updates and Edits 3-[/Sbigger][/U]
Hey everyone! Lots of interest has been shown to the playtest and I appreciate it. The following edits have been made due to suggestions and comments:
- Table of Contents added to the playtest document
- Shattered penalties now reset 1 minute after combat ends, upon using kintsugi, and upon rolling initiative.
-Cracked Vessel Stance maneuver now cannot lower your effective penalty from shattered below 1 and when using kintsugi cannot increase your effective penalty by more than half your current penalty from shattered (rounded up, minimum 1).
-Craze strike maneuver now increases the penalty based on initiator level as opposed to your penalty from shattered.
-Wording for the As I Suffer maneuver has been edited for clarity and to make the additional effect while shattered optional.
-Wording for the Both Sculptor and Clay stance edited for clarity on how to switch between effects.
-Cyllix boost maneuver renamed to Cylix and now treats any hit points regained above your maximum as temporary hit points that don't stack with others.
-Face the Fire strike maneuver's effect when becoming shattered now regains hit points equal to initiation modifier
-Feet of Clay strike maneuver effects edited for clarity.
-Form Follows Function stance maneuver now grants temporary hit points equal to your initiation modifier that stack up to your initiation level.
-Hard Knocks counter maneuver wording edited for clarity.
-Induce Tribulation strike maneuver wording edited for clarity.
-Lacquer of Brass boost maneuver wording edited for clarity.
-Lacquer of Copper boost maneuver now increases the granted DR /Bludgeoning for every 2 initiator levels instead of every 3.
-Lacquer of Gold boost maneuver's kintsugi effect now lasts for a number of rounds equal to twice your penalty removed from shattered.
-Lacquer of Silver boost maneuver wording edited for clarity and the reduction to damage now increases by your shattered penalty instead of by initiator level. Kintsugi effect now lasts until end of your next turn.
-Opening Tap strike maneuver wording edited for clarity
-Return to the Fire counter maneuver wording edited for clarity.
-Sgraffito boost maneuver kintsugi effects now heal for an amount equal to initiation modifier plus penalty removed from shattered.
-Shatter the Dross strike maneuver's wording edited for clarity.
-Take Up the Burden boost maneuver now grants temporary hit points to the chosen ally
-Unwilling Tempering strike maneuver's effect edited for clarity.

Cracked Vessel Updates and Edits 4
Hello Everyone! The Cracked Vessel public playtest has gone amazing so far, and I appreciate all the comments, suggestions, and interest that has been shown!
The playtest will continue until 15 March as planned, and as with my previous playtests the doc will remain live until the book is released.
The following updates and edits have been made:
- Maneuver tables by level now mirror updates to maneuvers that have been implemented.
- Damage for several maneuvers has been balanced out to keep in line with other martial disciplines.

Hello everyone! Quite a few edits and updates this time. Reminder that the playtest will continue until Sunday 15 March!
Following edits and updates have been made:
- - Tenmoku counter maneuver effects edited for clarity.
- - Feet of Clay strike maneuver duration updated to match effects.
- - As I Suffer strike maneuver effects edited for clarity.
- - Sigil of Defiance veil essence investment effects updated.
- - Penitent epilektoi archetype's Bearer of Truth effects are now 3rd and 11th level.
- - Lacquer of Brass boost's energy resistance is now IL + IM.
- - Lacquer of Silver boost's kintsugi effect now adds 3 times shattered penalty to the granted SR instead of twice the penalty.
- - Max hit point reduction from shattered now matches the penalty applied, providing a more smooth progression.
