Yes, it just requires that you cast a spell. It doesn't specify how.

Correct. Unless it says it has to come from a slot, it doesn't. If you want to i.e. cast contingency with the inner spell being containment from a wand, you can, nothing prohibits it.

Anything that uses the Cast a Spell activity, which does mean that certain activatable items does not qualify, but yeah all of those do qualify.

Demon mask is a thing that comes to mind as you Interact with it to have it cast the spell for you.
