Rules Question: Sniper's Scope and Area / Auto Fire

So, I was replying on a different thread when a thought occurred to me:
RAW, does the range increase of a Sniper's Scope apply to range of Area and Auto Fire attacks?

It does affect Auto Fire. Which is a really bad situation. Cone lenght should have been a fixed value, just so they can give them decent ranges.

It also wokss on Area. It would make sense for the Burst variant, but not Cone or Line.

Scope increases range and area and auto are both based on ranges so yeah it seems that way.
