I've played SFS 1e scenarios off and on at conventions when they're available (1-2x/year). Over time, I've finally managed to level up my character to 3rd level. This weekend, I just played my first 2e scenario at a convention (using pregens).
Will there be a process to transition characters from SFS 1e to SFS 2e and not lose credit for past 1e sessions played? I'd hate to have to start all over again at first level and take another 4 years to get back to third. I would expect I'd lose some items, etc., and will need to rebuild it to match 2e rules (esp since my character is a technomancer, which isn't in 2e rules).

There are not (and will not be) rules to transition characters between editions. However, in Starfinder Society (second edition), characters may begin play at 1st, 3rd, 5th or 7th level.

Also, technomancer is still a class in 2E. The final rules haven't been published yet, but the playtest rules for it are usable in Society until the final rules come out.

Thanks - somehow I'd missed that link on the Paizo website originally. Good to know you can just start at the higher level.
And for the playtest rules with technomancer, I assume that's related to a planned upcoming Players Handbook 2 (something analogous to the 1e Character Ops Manual) or some such future release?
