Alien Earth

Television

This is a series on Disney+, that's set on Earth. I'm surprised that there is no thread for it yet. As of today, three episodes are available.

Maybe this is the reason:
Hard to care about androids. No emotional pull to this.... just a zombie/horror/alien movie without a charismatic lead.

Fair enough!

We're enjoying it well enough. More for the politics and world-building than the characters.

It's significantly better than Prometheus or Covenant, not that that's much of an achievement, but it feels like an OK installment in Alien universe.

I guess these aren't the (an)droids you are looking for, then! :-)

Getting a chance to watch this now. Grabbed a Free Week of City TV and this is available there.
Just finished episode 5.

Show isn't bad got some interesting new ideas and I am all in favour of having some new critters

The idea of the Ticks makes me squirm but the Eyeball probably scares me the most. That thing is horrifying and it is clearly smart. Plus there is the Zombie factor as we have clearly seen it doesn't matter if the body is alive or dead when it takes over.

Still two critters to reveal for me though.

Galaxy is a terrible place full of horrible things. This reinforces that quite nicely.

Thanks for the reply, Greylurker. I don't want to post any spoilers, so let me know when you've finished the series.

Just finished last night.

Overall I enjoyed it.

Thing is, if they do a season 2,

Spoiler:
I want the kids to be the Villains. This was their Villain Origin story and it's a good one. I honestly think the best choice from here would be shift the kids to be the Antagonist of the series and create some new Protagonists (possibly with the brother being one of them).
Seriously, with all the things she can do and the ability to control the Xenos, Wendy is a Supervillain. I say go all in on that. Plus it shifts the Xenos out of the idea of being a Pet or protector and moves them to being the Big Bad's barely controlled hunting dogs.

meanwhile the Eye....is a whole different pile of trouble. So many questions. How smart is it, dose it have a plan of it's own, how scientifically advanced is it, how quick dose it learn?
