For Starfinder Society, the best thing you can do for combat is probably helping out the rest of the team.
Normally, I would suggest picking athletic maneuver traits, or an ancestry with more than two arms. Being able to grapple and trip enemies is super useful for everyone.
However, if you're aiming for a two-hand d10 Vlaka, then I think that most helpful thing to do would be taking Hampering Flare at level 1. Making enemies reliably off-guard every turn is awesome.
Because of that, you def wanna go Str>Dex>Con in stats. You might want to go Sharp-Toothed Vlaka + Natural Hunter for a grapple jaws attack. However, the Star-Marked Vlaka is just too thematically perfect for a Solarian. How could you not?

I'm building a Knight of Golarion on a Solarian chassis. Taking the gap-closer at level 1, then Knight feats at 2/4/6 and the flying feat at level 8. Solar weapon and Solar Flare will be backup weapons to the Grindblade & Riot Shield.
Defiant Shirren because I want to call "VILLANY!" on targets.
Oh man, we've basically built the same character then! I really love the Knight of Golarion archetype on a Solarian- besides the obvious rhyming. The level 4 feat to give a forcefield to everyone on your team is such a fun and collaborative ability to have as a Solarian, since you're usually a pretty "selfish" party member focusing on raw damage.
Now admittedly...I think Paizo is doing something wrong if anyone, for any reason, ever calls their Solar Weapon a "back-up weapon".
