Mind Swap has the possession trait. How much of this trait actually applies? For instance, would half the damage dealt to one body be dealt as mental damage to the other body?
For the base Rank 5 effect, I would think most of it. Effectively both targets are under Possession effects targeting the other body.
So yeah, damage to one body will do mental damage to that body's regular mental inhabitant, and both minds have trouble with spells targeting themselves because the 'themselves' isn't their own body currently.
For the Rank 9 effect, I would only have the Possession trait in effect for the instantaneous time that the effect is being applied to the target. So the immunity from mental effects would prevent it from working. But after it is cast and the magic ends, the permanent mind swap effect no longer has any of the effects of the Possession trait.
Can the primary caster be immune to mental effects as long as they are not a target of the spell?
I'd allow it.
Not sure that a Mindless creature could be an effective primary caster, but there are other ways of being immune to mental effects.
