Hey there all,
I am starting this thread for one specific purpose, to discuss what occultist implements might be missing. For example, right now Divination uses crystal ball, goggles, harrow deck, headband, and lenses. What else might be added to that list?
Please keep this on topic. Here is the format for your responses...
Divination Implements: tea cup, finger bones.
Evocation Implements: prism
Lets leave all other discussion to other threads.
Thanks

Conjuration or possibly Enchantment: Chime
Abjuration: Dreamcatcher
Divination: Horoscope, Pendulum (already mentioned, but seconded), Phrenology Calipers
Abjuration or Necromancy: Mortar and Pestle
Various: How about associating certain types of minerals or gemstones with the various schools? Perhaps someone with a bit more knowledge can give some suggestions as to what would be good thematic fits.
I was going to suggest an Athame, but I'm not sure a) what school it would be best associated with, or b) if it is considered more closely connected to the Witch class than the Occultist.

Likewise the Mortar and Pestle, but I'm not sure which school they best fit (perhaps Abjuration or possibly Necromancy?)Various: How about associating certain types of minerals or gemstones with the various schools? I'd associate Mortar and Pestle to transmutation because of alchemy.
As for gems; onyx would be necromancy (animate dead), while diamonds would be conjuration (raise dead), and ruby is evocation (fireball).

I'll definitely have some repeats of previous ideas, no doubt. Also, some items fit nicely into multiple categories.
Abjuration: chalk, holy symbol, incense, prayer beads, silver
Conjuration: bottle, candle, paintbrush, tin
Divination: book, brazier, hourglass, star map, third eye
Enchantment: copper, marionette, music box, musical instrument
Evocation: book, gauntlet, gloves, iron, orb, weapon
Illusion: cloak, hat, quicksilver, paintbrush, veil, wand
Necromancy: doll/poppet, lead, shovel, sickle, spirit board/planchette
Transmutation: broomstick, flask, gold, hourglass
I'd also like to see a quill somehow implemented (hyuck!), but I wouldn't know where to place it. Conjuration, perhaps?

I'd say there's some precedence for conjuration too. Necromancy probably has a place, though this would be less dubious if 3.5 hadn't shuffled all the healing and resurrection type spells over to conjuration instead of properly keeping them as necromancy spells. And if you liked Asterix and Obelix, transmutation also seems a possibility...
