So I was wondering about the Chalice implement of the Thaumaturge. What happens if they are knocked prone or disarmed of their Chalice? Wouldn't the chalice's liquid splash out? How exactly do you swap your chalice implement as a free action to another? It clips to your belt? Wouldn't it just slosh everywhere? If you where taking it from a dimensional space i suppose that would make some sense as you could say it wouldn't spill from in there. It just seems like a bad interaction that makes little sense?
Or is this just one of those "ignore it because game rules says it so?".

Yup. Ignore it because the game rules make it work that way.
A Thaumaturge Implement is a magical item. It can be described as magic.
And the container doesn't have to be shaped as an open-top cup. It can be a closed container that is only opened when being used.
It doesn't even have to be something that contains liquid - it can instead store energy of some unspecified variety. A pure amber crystal carved into an elaborate shape and mounted to a handle. When the chalice is filled it is a bright yellow color and when it is drained and refilling it is a darker orange color.
If you do want to describe the item as a traditional goblet shape that contains liquid, there are still ways of creatively describing events such as being knocked prone that will be less immersion breaking.

I don’t think there’s really a canon answer to this, but for me I think the Chalice just fills when you’re able to use it. Like, it’s empty when you drain it or when you have no intention to use it and then it fills on its own when you intend on using it.
In my head it’s something like… the implement can sense your need through your thaumaturgical resonance and automatically fills with the life giving liquid, but only once every ten minutes and it disappears if you have no intention or need for it.
