With the release of the Draw Steel playtest, would anyone be interested in running through one or both of the playtest adventures offered?

I am a little tight on time right now, but would be up to run through them if there is enough interest.

The Draw Steel system is a tactical, cinematic system that I really enjoyed when we played it for the first time last weekend!

I have pregens and cheat sheets available and there are a couple of YouTube videos that review the playtest packet. A short, simple one is here, if you are interested.

Thank you for your time!

I didn’t find the linked video in your post very informative, and much prefer THIS more recent one which introduces the core concept (heroic - professional monster slayers, not new adventurers; tactical - absolutely needs to be played on a grid; cinematic - not tracking torches or rations - this isn’t OSR) then breaks down the core mechanic - Power Rolls on 2d10 that then inform Tiers of success - 11 or below is Tier 1, 12-16 is Tier 2 and Tier 3 is 17+. So you essentially always hit, but Tier 1 is some damage, Tier 3 is much damage and an effect etc…there are also edges and banes - one edge provides a +2 to your result while 2 edges bumps your success by a Tier. And the reverse for banes. A critical (19 or 20) not only does good damage but also gives you a free action.

The video then also introduces the five initial classes quickly and the use of heroic maneuvers and other resources.

Also, it is half as long as the other video, which really is more of a set of impressions of someone who played the first playtest packet, and describes the differences between the first and second.

I will check it out, thanks!

This video is a good breakdown, thanks! I listened to couple of podcasts before and they are big proponents of the system!

Well, if anyone is interested, let me know! I just ran the intro- onboarding adventure last week and we all had a blast!

At this point, I would mortgage a kidney just to know what MCDM stands for, and why it's so presumptive, and why even on their own webpage they seem to think whatever it is is some kind of given. I guess they only want an audience of people who already know them (and 4.6 million dollars later, I guess that's okay).

Matt Colville's Dungeon Master?

Grand Lodge

That was always my assumption, but they refuse to explain it. Though the joke is that it stands for Matt Colville D*ck Muncher, in the company... (From Colville's lips!)

Though, I suspect the DM comes from his YouTube series about How to DM, rather than Colville as DM...

Matt Colville, Dungeon Master makes total sense.
Kinda like Samuel Adams, Brewer/Patriot.
