Rise of the Runelords

Hey so I'm a couple years into a consistent group running runelords, and I was wondering if anyone else detracted from the main idea of the Stone Giants being adversaries.

Without going crazy into it unprompted, Sandpoint was raided for the stones at the Old Light, however Stone Giant outside of Teraktinus' group either completely avoid the party or tell them that none are permitted to interact with "Lowlanders" (those south of the plateau).

Once at the Storval Stairs, they come across Stone Giants that task them with finding some of their scouts which they do after some misguided retribution in earlier interactions giving the first glimpse into what the Stone Giants are doing.

My Stone Giants are trying to recapture their glory without Karzoug's will impressed upon them, ironically, under Mokmurian who has essentially Genghis Khan'd the Iron Peaks and much of the Plateau. In their travels, the party has been welcomed enough throughout the Plateau, and they move toward Jorgenfist with a Stone Seer acting as a guide through the Iron Mountains and as a voice to speak with Mokmurian about the raid on Sandpoint itself among other things. The Stone Giants recoil at the mention of Thassilon and Karzoug, filled with a hatred for past transgressions that led them into their dark age of tribalism.

I'm wondering if anyone has thought of anything similar and what themes they went for to express stone giant culture. My biggest thing currently is they are the antithesis to the goblins from chapter one. Writing is part of their spirituality and a sacred art form with "Stories," or acts carved in stone, to denote those who have done great deeds.

I'm honestly down to just chat about anything you've homebrewed as well for the campaign overall. I don't get to talk to anyone at all about this stuff and before the group I have now I'd been trying to start it for almost a decade.

My take on RotRL was a little unusual so it may be of limited use, but in this case the stone giants were displeased with Mokmurian and more than happy to abandon him when he was cast down. It was not so much that they cared all that much about the little people but they didn't consider it worth the trouble to antagonize them for someone else's (Karzoug's) benefit.

I read a bit of your post in the Nualia and Mokmurian sections, and I didn't realize that the characters were already level 20. That really is an interesting take.
