Thaumaturge "Paired Link" definitions

Rules Discussion

Hi everybody. It's been asked but never really answered, but how does the paired link ability work with the Chalice implement or root to life? A loose interpretation of the words leads me to believe that both abilities should work at the 30 ft range. Thoughts?

RAW i don't think there are any thaumaturge abilities with range touch, it would apply only to spells.
Ask your GM about it, i think it is still a very niche feat and would allow it.

On that ally, you can cast spells and use thaumaturge abilities that have a range of touch at a range of 30 feet instead

I suppose it depends on if Implement actions and Thaumaturge feats are considered 'thaumaturge abilities' or not.

I'm not sure how to argue that they are not though. So since you have heard someone do that, can you elaborate?

If the argument is that Thaumaturge abilities state that they work on adjacent allies and that this is RAW distinct from a range of touch, so therefore zero Thaumaturge abilities qualify for using the feat with...

That is a pretty weak argument and likely falls into the 'problematic repercussions' clause of the Ambiguous Rules rule. The feat says that it works with Thaumaturge abilities. It should work with at least some Thaumaturge abilities.
