My champion/sorcerer just hit level 19 in Agents of Edgewatch. Seeing as my Steed Ally hasn't been able to contribute meaningfully for several levels (I've come a long way from being an equine enforcer on the Puddles' streets) I've decided to retrain her out for options that are more likely to aid us in the climatic battles likely to come our way in the near future.
But then I saw this line under Divine Ally: Once you choose an ally, your choice can't be changed.
Does that mean I cannot retrain this particular class option, kind of like how sorcerer bloodlines are restricted from typical retraining?
I think that text is supposed to mean you can't choose a different ally every day. But a very conservative reading could prevent retraining.
