I am setting up top run my first game of 2E.
I am mostly familiar with 1E and I'd like to help my players on the mechanical side but I am not necessarily well versed in the system yet.
The player is interested in playing a cook, and he saw the Alchemical foods from treasure vault.
I am sure he doesn't have things set in stone yet but he was inclined to play a barbarian.
He was also thinking of perhaps multiclassing as Druid.
The issue here is, he could of course get Alchemical crafting and produce food as downtime actions but I have the feeling that he would enjoy crafting them as infused reagents, or at the very least on a short rest kind of interval.
What are all the options for it? Reclassing into Alchemist is an obvious one, multiclassing into alchemist archetype is another one. there are other archetypes but as far as I can see most of them lock you into creating a specific brand of alchemical items and none of that are food.
Any other option?

The none of the provided options satisfy, then your next option would be Homebrew.
I would look at the available Dedications that grant infused reagents and equivalents, like Herbalist, Alchemist, (even Munitions Crafter) ect.
Then make your own "Alchemical Chef" Dedication that grants infused reagents that may only be used for such items.
Most significantly, you will need to decide what makes sense for that trade-off. Most of those say your "AAlchemy Level" lags behind the PC level, and will require Feats to get them to match, or to just be closer.
If they are willing, perhaps a Dedication Feat that grants:
* Alch Crafting Skill Feat
* 1 reagent per PC level
* AAlch to create only foods at 1 per reagent
* AAlch level = 1/3 PC level
------
Then an "Expert Chef" Alch Chef Feat to upgrade to:
* AAlch level = PC level
* Specialty Crafting Skill Feat in only alch foods.
* Can use AAlch in 10 min to turn reagents into food. (no need to make all food during daily prep, can wait and see)
Maybe a 3rd "True Chef" mastery Feat that grants:
* "Boxed Lunch" Up to 5 creatures present during daily prep get delivered 1 food of whatever the chef picks for them at day's start. (saves reagents)
* Any infused item made that has a DC will auto-upgrade to the chef's best Class DC.
* Grants Cooking Lore that auto-scales to highest skill training
* Any form of cooking is done at 4x speed and at 1/4 gp cost.
* "Never Hungry" as long as the chef has some coin or gp-valued-items, they can scrounge and cook good food.
I would also allow Lozenge items to be in the food category. They are combat items, but terrible/under-powered. If they want/can make use of them, all the better.

Yeah, that's my thought too. I also can't think of any existing options that give infused reagents for crafting specifically these food items from Treasure Vault.
But building a good and balanced one based on Herbalist should be reasonable.
