Multiclass Gunslinger / Swashbuckler Deeds level

Rules Questions

Hello everyone!
I would like to know if Gunslinger levels add to Swashbucker levels for the purposes of determining which deeds he has.
For example, Level 1 Gunslinger / Level 2 Swashbucker can use Precise Strike Deed?

I read the clarification below but it's not clear to me if the levels stack for the purposes of determining which deeds can be used and what exactly mean "other effects"?

"Grit, luck, and panache represent three different means by which heroes can gain access to the same heroic pool, using it to accomplish fantastic feats. For characters with a mix of grit, luck, and panache, they pool the resources together into a combined pool. (Those who use panache and luck gain twice their Charisma bonus in their pool.) For feats, magic items, and other effects, a panache user can spend and gain luck points in place of grit or panache points, and vice versa.

A luck user does not count as a grit or panache user to satisfy feat prerequisites. Swashbuckler levels stack with gunslinger levels for the purpose of satisfying Signature Deed’s level requirement."

No, the levels do not stack. What that means is that if you have both grit and panache, you combine the points in both pools and can use those points as either grit or panache. So, the gunslinger/swashbuckler would have a grit/panache pool equal to their combined CHA and WIS bonus with a minimum of 2. You can use them as either grit or panache and regain the points when you meet either recovery requirement.

This has no effect on what deeds you have access to. Each class only gives you the deeds based on the level of that class. In the character you posted you would only have the deeds granted at 1st level. When you achieve 3rd level in swashbuckler you gain the deeds of a 3rd level swashbuckler, but not those of a 3rd level gunslinger. Since neither class grants deeds at 2nd level, you do not gain anything for being 2nd level in either class.

For Signature Deed and other feats, the levels do stack. The description of panache in the swashbuckler class features uses Signature Deed as an example.

Unless there is a clarification other than the sidebars in Advanced Class Guide, I'm pretty sure that levels in Gunslinger and Swashbuckler stack for Signature Deed only.

As for "other effects": that basically means any game mechanic you have access to that uses or creates one of those resources. If you are a Gunslinger 3/Swashbuckler 3 and want to use the Deadeye deed in the 4th range increment you can use a mix of grit and panache; it doesn't have to all be grit. In fact it could be all panache. If you crit with that shot, you can choose whether to gain a grit or a panache.

Spitballing the source of your confusion here:

Signature Deed is a feat. None of what you quoted talks about deeds in any way, and thus Swashbuckler and Gunslinger levels don't stack for anything but the prereqs of the mentioned feat.
