PDF update.

With the remaster imminent...whats the chance of free PDF update so we don't have to double dip to buy a new rule book.

The chances of this are precisely 0% Viper, the Remaster is a while new line of rulebooks that are redone, reorganized, split up, and heavily tweaked.

I would keep an eye on AoN though. I don't know their update schedule and what coordination they've worked out with Paizo, but AIUI the remaster WILL show up there eventually. And it's free. I just don't know when.

VTTs and apps like Pathbuilder2e that use the ORC licensed game content will likely update automatically. I know Pathbuilder2e has a warning that you have to turn off automatic updates in November in order to keep using the pre-Remaster rules if you feel that you need to.

AoN will update as well. And will have a place to go and look at the historical pre-Remaster rules too.

The existing printed and .pdf Core Rulebook and Advanced Player's Guide should still work for proof of purchase for things like PFS play.

For myself, I am planning on spending spare money on adventure path books and War of the Immortals rather than re-buying the Player Core or GM Core books.

Speaking of Pathbuilder... I looked for the settings but couldn't find it...how do you turn off automatic updates?

I haven't really looked for it. I am eagerly anticipating the updates.

But I would expect that it would be in the Android OS settings to prevent the app from updating.

How long a non-updated app is going to continue running on Android OS is anyone's guess.

Not exactly Android, but (Google) Play Store, the app page, dots menu, tick 'Enable auto update' right there.
