=====
there are several FAQs on sneak attacks, but basically
> Sneak Attack: Can I add sneak attack damage to simultaneous attacks from a spell? apply only once.
> and just in case Arcane Trickster: How does the Surprise Spells class feature work with spells like magic missile and fireball? has a good example.

FAQs for smite with paladins;
> Paladin: Does smite evil bypass the defenses of the incorporeal special quality?
> Bonus Dice: Do bonus dice from Channel Smite or spells such as elemental touch or flame arrow multiply on a critical hit?
> Weapon Attacks and Special Abilities: Many places in the rules use the term “ranged weapon attacks” and similar terms, but how does this apply to spells, spell-like abilities, supernatural abilities, and extraordinary abilities (heretoafter called special abilities) that require ranged attacks but might not necessarily seem like weapons?
so Smite affects the Paladin not the weapon or spell. Like sneak(precision damage) apply only once (per attack or (most) spells).

Liberty's Edge

For Question 2, there is no "smite damage". The damage added by Smite Evil is of the same kind as the damage dealt by the attack the paladin makes.
