Does the selective antimagic aura affect anyone inside the Colossus Keep or Manor Alternate Form?

My guess is no. A aura surrounds.

The Exchange

Short answer is “yes, they are affected.”

Longer answer requires reading Occult Adventures pages 198-199

Quote:
The energy of the aura permeates the body and spirit of a living creature. . . Other magic auras are the result of a creature’s inherent supernatural abilities, and can have game effects on those who approach too closely. Such auras (such as a dragon’s frightful presence) often force creatures to attempt saving throws to resist their effects. . .

Prior to that there was a lot of hair-splitting of the language going on in answer to your question. Several designers had indicated that an aura encompassed everything within it (including the source) but never in language that was irrefutably explicit to those arguing against it.

Spoiler:
Even now some people, especially those who like to argue for the sake of arguing, will pick apart the language of the Occult Adventures text and try to make the case that only living creatures are suffused with an aura according to the text, therefore undead and constructs aren’t within their own aura.

Selective Antimagic Aura (Su) A colossus exudes a constant antimagic field, as the spell, with a radius equal to its reach. Typically, this field ignores specified schools of magic or spell descriptors. A colossus’s own spell-like abilities and supernatural abilities are not affected by this aura.

It is an Antimagic Field, so it affects everything in the area.

I am unsure of the meaning of "DC 24, 10 rounds" in the aura description of the wood colossus.

The Antimagic Field spell has a duration, but auras normally don't have them, and the Selective Antimagic Aura is constant. And Antimagic Field has no save, so we don't what is the effect of saving against it. .

Just show them the entries for Graveknights and Daughter of the Dead's Desecrate Aura effects. Every printing I have seen of their stats has the desecrate aura's doubled effects already written into their stats because they are in their own aura.
