Demolition Charge

Rules Discussion

Demolition Charge says:

Quote:
Combine this damage for the purpose of resistances and weaknesses, and this damage ignores an amount of the object's Hardness equal to your level.

I've always assumed the damage is combined before Hardness too, but I'm not entirely certain.

Thoughts?

Do inanimate objects have weaknesses and resistances? I'm not aware of any that do. If there are some, it is pretty rare.

So I would assume that the combining of the bomb's damage is done with the intent of overcoming the object's hardness.

It also damages creatures near it, but I always figured it would be weird to have creatures take X damage and a door or column to take A, B, C and D damage instead, so I assume the same. They take the splash and it has its own call out for combining.

One instance is a baba yaga witch familiar that has Resistance. Siccatite Shields have Resistance. Vehicles can have weaknesses [for instance a Sailing Ship] or resistances [like a firefly]. So there are a few instances of it applying to them.

Edit: Some hazards have object stats and weaknesses too.
