The witch learns magic tricks called "Hexes" are these considered spells then? for the purpose of spell curse effect?

as the Hexes all have either SU or EX for supernatural or extraordinary powers, what is the definition of the power, is it magic? could it, would it be disabled by say a counterspell effect etc etc


Hexes are only "curses" when they refer to themselves as such.

Hexes are not spells, though a few allow you to cast a spell, such as flight.

(Ex) abilities are not "magic".

(Su) abilities are magic, unless specified otherwise.

Counterspell is only for spells, and sometimes spell-like abilities.

Read up on the rules, here and here. That should answer most if not all of your questions.

What do you mean with "spell curse effect"?

Supernatural Abilities: These can’t be disrupted in combat and generally don’t provoke attacks of opportunity. They aren’t subject to spell resistance, counterspells, or dispel magic, and don’t function in antimagic areas.

Extraordinary Abilities: These abilities cannot be disrupted in combat, as spells can, and they generally do not provoke attacks of opportunity. Effects or areas that negate or disrupt magic have no effect on extraordinary abilities. They are not subject to dispelling, and they function normally in an antimagic field. Indeed, extraordinary abilities do not qualify as magical, though they may break the laws of physics.


At this point, it might help to know what you are trying to achieve or prevent. I'm guessing there must be some specific case you had in mind from reference to "spell curse effect".
