Specific familiar : Poppet

Rules Discussion

Hello, I have a question about poppet familiar.

Quote:
Flammable : ... You can spend an additional familiar ability, either permanently or on a per-day basis, to reinforce the poppet's construction, removing this weakness.

So I spend a familiar ability without take an ability, I remove the fire weakness, is it right ?

Thanks for your future answer.

The way I think of it is that a Poppet Familiar has an additional familiar ability that doesn't show up on the list of abilities.

It would be:

Non-flammable: you remove the flammable trait from your familiar.

You can spend one of your familiar ability choices on this special familiar ability.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

And I can't think of a good reason to pick the ability permanently. Choosing it every day leaves the flexibility open to pick something else if needed.

Is it possible for a poppet familiar to obtain the plant trait ?

For example, with worwitch feat, a witch obtains a leshy as familiar.

It's rather clear what happens in this case:

"If you already had a familiar, this leshy replaces your previous familiar, as if your previous familiar had been slain."
