"Vetala" don't seem to exist in 2e for some reason.

The vetala and the psychic vampire (AKA vetalarana) were combined into the same type of creature, a vetalarana. IMO it's a good change, since there was so much overlap between the two, sort of like troglodytes => xulgath.

The only reason for they were separate to begin with was that troglodytes and vetala were conceived before 1E's Occult Adventures was published, and OA and Occult Bestiary rewrote them as being wielders of psychic magic.
