Starfinder Follow-up adventure for the beginnder box

General Discussion

Hi.
I'm currently running the adventure from the starter box and I need some recommendations for a follow up adventure or campaign.
the players consist of a group of 10-year-old boys

thanks in advance

Junker's delight would be a good next step with out getting into a longer adventure path.

Out of curiosity. Any suggestions as my kids and I had a wonderful time on the boxed set, but the regular rules have so many modifiers to track between range, cover, and multiple armor classes. Is there a way to simplify the regular rules to make it more playable with a younger crowd?

Thanks!

Googling around for a conversion guide, all the advice I could find was for going to the complete rules. Most are just a list of what's different between the two. Here's the most complete list I could find.

List of diffrences .

The best advice off the top of my head is to homebrew something, just using the content in the beginner's box is the simplest way without any conversions needed.

Next, easiest way might be to keep the rules and character creation from the beginner's box and then take an adventure like Junkers Delight and swap out monsters with ones in the beginner's box. One of the Free RPG day adventures would be shorter to try to convert. They all so come with pregen characters, which would help too.
free adventures .

There really isn't any support I know of for more beginner box-level content. Avoiding things like cover is just a matter of not adding a cover to an encounter. Without some of the modifiers, encounters could be harder using the full rules. Using teamwork to debuff a monster can be important, so if you only use One of the AC values, pick the lower of EAC or KAC. If you don't use stamina with the full rules, just add their stamina to their HP. You'll need to allow your player to recover around 1/2 their HP after a 10-minute rest.

Other than Homebrewing and converting a lot with the beginner's rule set, if you decide to try to teach your kids the full set over time, just add one new rule each game. Or create encounters that help teach a new rule.

Starfinder Society Scenario #5-14: Ghost Level Delve.
Ghost Level Delve.

It looks like this one might be a good follow-up adventure, as it takes place near where the Begginer's box adventure happens. It even hints at the BBEG in the beginner's adventure. The beginner's box adventure could even be worked into it. Ghost Level Delve makes for a better beginning giving the PCs more reasons to get involved in the beginner's box adventure.

I looked at it a bit today to see what it would need to convert.

Most of the adventure is social encounters and skill checks. It's not too hard to chart which skills match up with the ones missing in the beginner's box.

There are only a few encounters. Some would easily swap out with NPCs in the beginner's box. Others could be swapped out or converted. It's just one or two creatures.

The biggest part of converting it is all the gear you find, but that all can be looked up on the Archive of Nethys and likely doesn't need any other conversion.

Thanks, Driftbourne! Will look to see what I can do w/ the substitution ideas!
