Hi folks, I generally play RPGs with my kids (wonderful family time where everyone is engaged) and was interested in looking at Starfinder again with 2E coming out. We did a little Starfinder 1E, but it generally bogged down due to complexity. A quick question for you all - we tend to use DND Beyond for 5E stuff - is there a similar recommended platform for Starfinder 2E? I find that it made it a lot easier to run campaigns and I typically don't have too much time to prep. Thanks!

I actually play with my wife and my 2 older children (11 (son) & 9 (daughter)). My wife has no interest in RPGs, but loves board games & card games. I think the real reason she plays is the children are so into this (along with me :)). This was a good way to meet 1/2 way between RPG & card games, so it worked out. -Andrew
I can understand where people were confused since frankly I was one of them. :) The boards have helped clear a lot of questions up. I think in a game like this, examples help explain a lot. ex: if you can't draw your hand size, you die . . . for example: "Seoni has 2 cards, need to draw 4 more to her hand size, but only has 3 cards left in her deck, therefore she has died"
We play as a family - my wife, son (10), and daughter (8). We just made it through the "Basic" campaign and are about to start the Burnt Offerings one. The children absolutely love it - my wife is slowly coming around :). Biggest problem is we start so late due to putting the younger children to bed (2 & 5 yr old). Tons of fun though :) |
