Triggerbrand dpr?

I know dpr is far from the end all be all

But I love combination weapons

I hate d4s

So I wonder what the projected difference with be with a level 6 trigger brand with trigger brand salvo and 18 strength and 19 Dex (started with 16/18)

When using the triggerbrand weapon. D6 finesse melee strike into d4 (fatal d8) ranged strike

Vs

Hammer gun, d8 non finesse melee strike, d6 (fatal d10) ranged strike

When I theory crafted a simple triggerbrand a while back it's always one of the 2 handed combination weapons. Triggerbrand doesn't have a good reason to use the one handed ones except for maybe 2 mace multipistols because of capacity to use touch and go with. Gunsword is pretty good thanks to kickback. With 18 strength and large bore mod, the difference in crit damage is actually not that huge compared to the fatal combo weapons. However, the hammer gun is in a very interesting position because it is a hammer and is thus subject to the best specialization effect if you take mauler as a dedication. I say go for the hammer gun. The new lancer from treasure vault also works reasonably well for a strength focused triggerbrand but it's a crossbow.

The new gauntlet crossbow might be a good reason to use the titular triggerbrand now that I think about it. It's another D4 though. Probably just a means of keeping fake out always primed.
