Dual Class questions...

Rules Discussion

If both classes give a similar class feature (at the same level or not), even though they are named differently (ie vivacious speed and incredible movement) they do not stack, correct?
If both classes give stances, only one stance can be used at a time, correct?

I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to these, just making sure I'm not missing some nuance or special circumstance somewhere...

Since Dual Class is an official houserule, it often needs a bit of GM and player judgement. So there really isn't an official answer to things.

Check the bonus type. Speed bonuses often don't have a bonus type, but pretty much everything else does. If the bonus type is the same, then it won't stack. If the bonus type is different, then it probably should.

In the case of speed that doesn't have a type, you may need to just decide whether having that much speed is going to be a problem or not.

One at a time, yes. This isn't even a Dual Class thing - plenty of classes - especially Monk - can get several stances to use. But starting a new one ends any existing stance.

It just says "status bonus". Is that untyped?

This is what I thought. Thanks for confirming.

Status is a type of bonus. Does not stack with other Status bonuses.

An example of one of the untyped bonuses to speed would be from the general feat Fleet.

I thought there was a list of the types of bonuses available - but I can't find it.

The ones I can remember off-hand are:
Item
Circumstance
Status

And I thought there was one more, but I can't remember its name.

Awesome, thank you.

Horizon Hunters

Fleet and the Elven/Sylph ancestry feats are the only untyped speed buffs. Everything else (spells, class features, items) is either a Status Bonus or an Item Bonus.

Swift, the Sylph feat, doesn't stack with other ancestry feats that boost speed, so you can't start as an elf with 40ft move speed.

Tiefling Nimble Hooves too.

Horizon Hunters

Huh, I didn't know about that one. Oh, and Aasimar gets Call of Elysium at level 9. Neat.
