Does "Improved Knockdown" trigger "The Harder They Fall"?

Please someone solve this.

A lot of people are saying it doesn't, as it just applies the "prone" condition without the "trip".

BUT someone just posted that it was errated to:

Page 151: The Knockdown feat's wording made it ambiguous whether you were actually Tripping, which left it uncertain whether you apply any special effects and requirements related to the Trip action. To make it clear, change it to say "If you do and your Strike hits, instead of rolling a check for your Trip attempt, you automatically apply the critical success effect of a Trip."

PLEASE someone end this debate once and for all.

The errata is accurate. You can find it in the usual place.

The errata already ended the debate. Improved Knockdown, after the errata, triggers anything that happens from a critical trip.
