I tried to find some information about the red water in Bloodcove but either I'm blind or I do not have the right books.
I swear, it’s something about iron oxidization/rust, but can’t find a source for that now.

I thought it was a quirk of the mangroves in the area, like their roots stained the water or something?
Used up all the blue in the Shackles so they had to pick up another color.

On page 25, the same source (at least according to the wiki, I don't have the original) refers to the source of the iron as iron-rich clay deposits around the lower riverbanks and bed. As opposed to, say, ore deposits near the sources of the river.
What are supposed to be found in ores, veins, and lodes upstream and in the Barrier Wall Mountains are gold and platinum.
