Hi Sharkbite.
I am going to start at the beginning.
Starfinder Society is a series of 4 hour adventures called Scenarios. Each scenario gives 1 XP, 2 Reputation. After ever 3 adventures. the character goes up a level.
Attack of the Swarm is an Adventure Path. It is not explicitly designed for Society Play, you can play the adventure without filling out anything. But if you like, you *can* fill out the chronicles and give some credit to your society PCs.
Each player can get an ID by visiting paizo.com/organizedplay and click on the “New Players Create an Account” button.
That will give the player an ID. They will also need to chose a character to assign the credit to. This will probably be their first character -701. (Starfinder character numbers start at 701 and go up from there.
AP chronicles give 3 XP (The same as 3 scenarios, and enough to take you up one level.) They give 5 reputation. (Slightly less than 3 scenarios that were all fully successful.)
Achievement Points will be awarded automatically by the system when you report the adventure online.
To report the game, you log into your account, go to the link above, and go to the "GM/Event coordinator" tag and create a new event.
(More on this later, but I have to go pick up a kid from school.)

basically just so that we can bring our own personal characters to Gamehole instead of using pregens.
Definitely understand you there.
Your characters can keep the credit you earned last year, even if you decide to change the characters (characters are a ball of protoplasm until they're played at level 2)
I bought the Swarm series. We've started to run it, but I'm afraid that I'm totally ignorant to the way this works. Not actually playing the game, but, you know, making it count.
Its a lot to learn all at once.
You get chronicle sheets for the game here Each one counts as three scenarios which means they're one level.
When we finish an adventure and go to fill out the campaign sheet, where do I get the numbers from that I'm supposed to put on there?
XP is simple enough (seems like it's just 1 point per adventure)
The swarm books are all 3xp/ one level. yes i'm repeating that. It will be on the test greatly effect which games you can play with which characters at the con.
Credits are self-explanatory. How much Reputation do the players get though?
generally 1 for surviving the adventure, 1 for completing it satisfactorily and occasionally 1 more if your mission was important to someone, Like you went out and met a new species for the wayfinders.
And now that it's these Achievement Points instead of Fame, how much do they get of those?
Achievement points vary depending on whether its a con, a premier con, a premier gameday, a retrograde moon.
The good news, and a change from last year, is that you have at least 80 of them to start with. Enough to get yourselves a nice new weirdo alien if thats what you want to play.
How do we actually go about entering the information so that the code thinger for the session goes into the internets and makes the character be more good?
You character is more good (levels up) the second you finish the game and get the chronicle sheet. Reporting lets you and your players get achivement points.
To report
Mouse over organized play on the bar upper right hand corner of this or most paiso pages
Right click, open in new tab so you can refer to these instructions and go through the process
Click the GM/Even coordinator tab
Scroll down a lil if neccesary
Click create your event
(You SHOULD have PFS numbers from last year and no tneed to get new ones)
edit it
Click save changes.
Go back to organized play :Mouse over organized play on the bar upper right hand corner of this or most paiso pages
Click the GM/event coordinator tab again. You should see the event you made
Click report.
Fill in the information. I'm pretty sure you get 5 fame for doing an adventure path book.
Click submit/enter or whatever it is (Not looking at this part so going off of memmory)

I know this is probably all common sense, but assume I'm an idiot and I need it explained like you would to either an 80 year old man or a 4 year old child.
Thats how its in my brain so thats how it comes out. My degree being in trees seems to be an advantage when trying to explain the computer parts...
Now this part gets complicated...
Your characters have played 2 ? Games. So you are level 1 and 2/3rds
If you apply the first swarm chronicle you're now level 2 and 2/3rds
Each game you play at the con adds a 1/3rd of a level.
So you need to see which games you want to play, and what level they will put you at so your level isn't too high or too low to play that game with that character.
