Hello guys!
Creating some builds with the Barbarian class I came across some questions:
When I do a High Jump as part of a Cloud Jump or Sudden Leap am I able to move vertically and horizontally? You know, just as described in the basic Leap action and the critical result of a High Jump action.
If the answer is positive, what would be the horizontal distance of a High Jump as part of a Sudden Leap? For example:
- I have 25 feet (Speed) and I want to do a 25 feet High Jump vertically using Sudden Leap. DC 25 (Rolling dice) "i did it!" how long can i move horizontally with this result?

Okay, this is a trail of bread crumbs to calculate so it took me a bit to get to. I'm only quoting the parts I believe relevant and bolding parts that stood out to me. If I get something wrong I have no doubt someone will jump in to "help"
You Stride, then make a vertical Leap and attempt a DC 30 Athletics check to increase the height of your jump.
Critical Success: Increase the maximum vertical distance to 8 feet, or increase the maximum vertical distance to 5 feet and maximum horizontal distance to 10 feet.
Success: Increase the maximum vertical distance to 5 feet.
Failure: You Leap normally.
Critical Failure: You don’t Leap at all, and instead you fall prone in your space.
If you Leap vertically, you can move up to 3 feet vertically and 5 feet horizontally onto an elevated surface.
So we begin with 5' vertically and 5' horizontally on a success, and on a crit pick between 8' vertically and 5' horizontally OR 5' vertically and 10' horizontally

You (sic) unparalleled athletic skill allows you to jump impossible distances. Triple the distance you Long Jump (so you could jump 60 feet on a successful DC 20 check). When you High Jump, use the calculation for a Long Jump but don't triple the distance.
You can jump a distance greater than your Speed by spending additional actions when you Long Jump or High Jump. For each additional action spent, add your Speed to the limit on how far you can Leap.
You Stride, then make a horizontal Leap and attempt an Athletics check to increase the length of your jump. The DC of the Athletics check is equal to the total distance in feet you’re attempting to move during your Leap (so you’d need to succeed at a DC 20 check to Leap 20 feet). You can’t Leap farther than your Speed.
If you didn’t Stride at least 10 feet, or if you attempt to jump in a different direction than your Stride, you automatically fail your check. This DC might be increased or decreased due to the situation, as determined by the GM.
Success: Increase the maximum horizontal distance you Leap to the desired distance.
Failure: You Leap normally.
Critical Failure: You Leap normally, but then fall and land prone.
So now the calculation has been changed to Long Jump's math for a High Jump. DC is distance traveled, no further than your speed. Even though Long Jump doesn't have a critical success entry, I'd probably keep the part of High Jump's critical success that allows extending the horizontal distance to 10'

You make an impressive leap and swing while you soar. Make a Leap, High Jump, or Long Jump and attempt one melee Strike at any point during your jump. Immediately after the Strike, you fall to the ground if you're in the air, even if you haven't reached the maximum distance of your jump. If the distance you fall is no more than the height of your jump, you take no damage and land upright.
When attempting a High Jump or Long Jump during a Sudden Leap, determine the DC using the Long Jump DCs, and increase your maximum distance to double your Speed.
Special If you have Felling Strike, you can spend 3 actions to make a Sudden Leap and use Felling Strike instead of a normal Strike.
You don't appear to need Cloud Jump with that line in Sudden Leap, except to jump long distances outside of combat. So my final answer would be... 50' high and 5' long, or 10' long on a crit if you keep that crit success part of Long Jump?

I was thinking about this, and since Sudden Leap doesn't appear to care whether you're doing a High Jump or a Long Jump I would probably give the player a maximum distance based on the DC they chose, then let them split it up between vertical and horizontal however they wish - keeping in mind that after the strike they'll still lose the rest of their horizontal distance and fall to the ground
