Singular Expertise

You have particular expertise with guns and crossbows that grants you greater proficiency with them and the ability to deal more damage. You gain a +1 circumstance bonus to damage rolls with firearms and crossbows.

Kickback
Guns & Gears pg. 234
A kickback weapon is extra powerful and difficult to use due to its high recoil. A kickback weapon deals 1 additional damage with all attacks.

Large Bore Modifications
Guns & Gears pg. 183

When you attach large bore modifications to a kickback weapon, the circumstance bonus to damage granted by the kickback trait increases from 1 to 2 additional damage

the question:
Where is the error? Is the damage bonus from kickback and large bore modifications untyped or circumstance? If circumstance, what is the point?

Not everyone who uses guns is a Gunslinger.

Gunslingers should get a bonus for using guns. If Kickback weapons give a circumstance bonus to damage then all weapons with that trait become pretty crap.

However untyped bonuses are pretty uncommon outside of class features. Honestly the best solution is to make Singular Expertise untyped and Kickback a circumstance bonus like Forceful.

It's additional damage, like Rage, Weapon Specialization, Runes, Sneak Attack and so on. It stacks with everything.

Please don't just skip to answering "what is an untyped bonus." There is a contradiction between the kickback and lbm entries

Ho, I missed that. It's obviously a mistake as Kickback doesn't give a circumstance bonus to damage.

It's up to the GM then.

Yeah it's an obvious contradiction with no clear answer so probably just best to mention it in the product discussion thread (with a link back to this thread for any further discussion) and hope it makes the next errata printing.

The additional damage from kickback isn't circumstance, and referring to it as such is an error in the large bore modifications item I've got tagged for errata.
