So i have made a shifter that for roleplaying and fun purposes is mostly going to be an animal. I have the Mouse, Dionychus, and the eagle. So basically when we are in City's I am going to act like a familiar. I put ranks in disguise and have my int as the modifier with a trait. So with my 10 ranks and 2 int bonus, and the +10 for polymorph I am rocking a 22 to act like an animal.
So basically to see if this works or not, I need to know if I am a bird or a mouse do I weigh like a bird or mouse. Or would I be some 100+ plus bird perching on a pc's shoulder?

To clarify, I think technically you multiply or divide your weight by 8 (depending on increase or decreasing size) for each size category.
So, if you're a medium creature weighing 200 lbs and turn into a bird or mouse (fine size category) then you would be reducing 4 size categories.
And your weight would be divided by 8^4 (8*8*8*8) and would end up weighing substantially under 1 lb. So it's not perfect, but does get you close to a reasonable weight. I would probably say it's a minimum of 1 lb, because the math is just going to get to weird fractions.

Note that you maintain the same level of encumbrance, minus the armor's effect.
If you were heavily encumbered and medium, you would become a heavily encumbered tiny bird. If you were lightly encumbered and carrying 50 lbs of stuff that would heavily encumber a tiny creature with your strength, you stay lightly encumbered.

This is assuming you leave all your gear on your person and it melds with you.
If you drop something and try to pick it up afterward, you would apply it against your new encumbrance rating....which can be annoying to figure out.
