Been mulling over this for a while now and can't find a definitive answer.
+Reasons why Fuse/Pellet Grenades could be used with Vital Strike:
)You use the attack action to throw the grenade.
)The grenade is a weapon.
-Reasons why Fuse/Pellet Grenades couldn't be used with Vital Strike:
)The thrower is usually targting a square or intersection with the grenade, not a creature.
)The attack roll is not directly dealing the damage, merely placing the grenade which deals the damage later.
Any insight on this would be appreciated.

if the grenade doesn't deal damage with the attack rolls but a few rounds later when it explode the only damage vital strike can deal is the one from bludgeoning the target with said grenade.
it wasn't the attack that dealt damage it was the explosion, and it doesn't have any attack roll ,hack you can place the grenade without rolling to hit, move away and then it explodes, the grenade's damage has nothing to do with the attack roll.
consider this. Lets say you use your attack with vital strike to throw the grenade at an enemy. it hits(more or less) then it turns out it still have 2 rounds to explode, so said enemy picks it up and throws it back at you. when the grenade explode, should it still add your vital strike feat to damage?
