Question about the Sihedron Tome's

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Scarab Sages

I'm just wondering how rare these things are, if anyone knows. Originally I thought there was only 1 per runelord and getting ahold of one came with an angry (if spellless) runelord hunting you down to get it back. However I recently noticed the entry say's "The FIRST Sihedron Tome's are said to have been crafted by . . ." which implies they're more common if rare.

Does anyone know if these items are like the sin swords i.e. 1 per rune lord or like a staff of the magi i.e. rare artifacts but not unreasonable to give to a player? Yes I know blessed books will cover most wizard needs but it is possible to fill those.

I was under the impression that there was only one per Runelord (and possibly one for Xin himself), and that this flavor text was slightly out of sync with the intent of the tomes. You could assume that each Runelord made or received their own Sihedron Tome, and since most Sins had several lords, there could have been a few over the ages and still be only one per Runelord.

Scarab Sages

Hmm that's true the original ones did tend to be assassinated and replaced. Which would work the flavour text of the original ones being made by a dragon still.

Nice item though.

Yup. The game I'm running now has three apprentices running around with one each. It's good to be legacy characters.
