Doubling Rings do not require their user to predetermine which weapons are affected, correct? I could hold a +1 Striking weapon in the "Gold Ring hand" and any weapon in the "Iron Ring hand" would immediately become +1 Striking, yes? Even when switching weapons mid-combat? (Limited to melee waepons, of course.)
I'm like 99% sure this is correct, but I want to make sure I'm not missing anything before following those rings down the "build a dozen new characters"-rabbithole.

That looks correct to me.
The level 11 version will also duplicate property runes like Flaming or Ghost Touch onto the other weapon.
I don't think it works to apply fundamental rune effects to unarmed attacks or even to a normal Shield Bash attack - because it is not a weapon.
It is somewhat questionable if an attached weapon on a shield would qualify because you may not actually be wielding the attached weapon, just the shield - but I think the accepted ruling is that it does apply. I would certainly allow it in my games.
Similar with the melee portion of a combination firearm. I would think that it would transfer rune effects when wielded as a melee weapon.

It is the difference with the Blazons of shared power.
Interesting. The Blazons don't have to be melee weapons either. But you do have to pick the weapons during attunement in the morning.
And while it says that they are attached to the weapons, it doesn't say that they are Talismans, nor does it say that they would conflict with attaching Talismans to the weapons.
