Young animal companion falling from the air

Rules Discussion

If you fly you have to spend at least one fly action to not fall down.
If I don't command my young animal companion it has no action.
So if I don't tell it to keep flying wouldn't it just fall from the sky :o

No, if you don't command your animal companion it uses all its actions for purely defensive actions (and flying seems like a "defensive action" while midair).
The problem is more important if your companion actually has actions, as it can't get many and will have to burn an action to Fly.

Oh ok thanks. That makes way more sense.

Your Animal Companion is a Minion, which gets only 2 actions, after you've spent 1 action to Command it.

(not including all of the other possible feat options out there)

So you'd either, a) Command it to give it 2 actions, or b) do nothing, and it uses a single action to land (or hover, or fly somewhere else that the GM determines, I suppose).

Oh. Weird. The comment I was replying to disappeared..

I remembered the minion trade as well just after posting the comment. I guess I was not quick enough though xD

But thanks for the answer anyway :)
