Can you add Fusions to weapons created by the Gear Array?

For Example, Create a Laser Azimuth Pistol and install the Called Weapon Fusion. If so what happens to the Fusion once the weapon is dismissed?

The gear array rules don't address this specifically, but I don't see why you couldn't slap a fusion or fusion seal onto a Gear Array weapon. It'd take the usual time, but otherwise should be good to go?

It's a good question on what happens if the weapon is dismissed or the nanite array re-assigned, though. I went to look for guidance on what happens to fusions/fusion seals on regular weapons when that weapon is destroyed, but - that also doesn't seem to be specifically addressed in the fusion rules, nor the FAQ. I'd imagine that a fusion would be destroyed, but a fusion seal could be able to be re-used, as normal, in either case.

Sadly fusion seals take 24 hours before they start working so I don't think that would work out, unless you don't need to sleep since your gear turns back into nanites when you are unconscious.

Huh, that's a good point!

...I suppose, someone really married to the idea of keeping their Gear Array up during sleep (for Fusion Seals, or if they formed their nanites into a mobile hotelier to rest in, or whatever else) could argue that Asleep and Unconscious are not the same thing. They're listed as separate conditions in the CRB, and the Unconscious definition starts with "you are knocked out and helpless" which implies Unconscious is more a thing that gets imposed on you from damage, spells, and similar. Asleep is just listed as "sleeping and helpless." Spells like Deep Slumber render you Asleep, but not Unconscious, reinforcing the idea they're separete things (although that spell specifically calls out it doesn't work on Unconscious creatures, but doesn't call out not working on Asleep creatures, so...Shrug?) Ok, admittedly, may be a bit of a stretch :D

Deep Slumber not working on unconscious people but working on sleeping people makes perfect sense in seperating the 2 conditions. It shows that unconscious is a more serious condition. Deep slumber makes an already sleeping person harder to wake, but nothing to an unconscious.

And the nanytes don't disappear when you become "helpless" (sleeping) they disappear when you become "unconscious"
