Removed some bait/incitement.

Also, mushrooms are delicious. That is all.

Thank you, Brian. Genuinely going above and beyond tonight. As someone else who is up too late for the West Coast, I hope you're having an okay night and can get to bed soon.

Mushroom fact I learned today: You can grow your own truffles, but since they grow in the roots of certain trees, it's not at all easy. It's generally a kind of orchard situation.

As much as I'd like to agree about mushrooms -- used to enjoy them in Asiatic and Mediterranean cuisine -- sadly now they make me quite ill.

It's a shame, because now I can't offer any to wayward badgers.

This thread actually helps highlight (and I hope it is preserved for educational purposes) what happens when someone is removed after making comments against TOS not TOZ, that's a whole different can of worms and may whatever Divine you follow have mercy on your soul if you go there!.

It removes the context for comments, and leaves the door open to someone to come along and say "Huh, they're arguing with SOMEONE, someone who might be JUST like me! I should carry on the Good Fight!

Not only should it be preserved, but it should be examined for any sort of way to fix the situation without losing the very important question asked at the top of the thread and the clarifications and positive discussion that's occurred since.

And yes, when someone comes right out and explains why they can't trust someone, I view that as a positive, because it explains more than a bunch of wishy-washy passive aggressive comments that bigots and worse use for 'nuance'.

This is actually good evidence of why a (BANNED) tag would be useful in conjunction with (under certain conditions) leaving posts up--if you just leave the posts up, people will want to respond, not realizing the poster is long gone.

While I certainly get the need to remove posts to keep the problem from continuing to spiral and to remove the toxic bile from where targets can stumble across, sometimes I think it would be better to leave at least some of them up once the poster is banned just to serve as an example to the next generations of trolls.

Maybe add an 'Archive' tag to it or something?

I still don't get how marking someone as (BANNED) would lead to bullying. What are we gonna do, follow them to Twitter?

I'm just going to keep this one locked as it really just spiraled into a lot of nonsense. Just a reminder, you do not have to take the bait from a troll. It's exhausting for CS to read through and moderate, I can't imagine how exhausting it must be to go back and forth with someone that is clearly enjoying getting people riled up. Feel free to start a new thread on mushrooms though, and not the sussy kind, thanks!
