Vanguard rules question

Rules Questions

so reading the following

You can gain Entropy Points only when involved in a combat encounter that includes a significant enemy (Starfinder Core Rulebook 242). When combat begins, you gain 1 Entropy Point at the beginning of your first action; at the end of combat, you lose any Entropy Points you have remaining. In addition to methods granted by vanguard aspects, you can gain Entropy Points in the followings ways.

so this means if its a significant enemy you don't gain a Entropy Point at the start of battle, but does it apply for the other conditions listed.

like for instance

Each time you take damage equal to or greater than twice your character level from a single attack or effect (after applying any ability to reduce that damage, such as DR, energy resistance, or the mitigate class feature), you gain 1 EP.

You do gain entropy points at the start of battle against a significant enemy. That's literally what the ability says. I assume that was a typo, and you mean vs. An insignificant enemy?

In that case, no level 10 vanguards don't start with entropy when they're tearing through a pack of level 1 gremlins or such creatures.

yes a Typo, so I realize I don't start with a entropy point but if I get hit for 2 times my level do I get a point?

If I get hit by a Crit hit?

The scenario I was looking at was a level 1 vs 2 1/8's =) just trying to understand the rules as I am new to starfinder =)

Yes, every other method of gaining entropy points works as normal.

Would you even really need any entropy points if you are fighting an "insignificant enemy", ala the level 10 vanguard vs a bunch of level 1 goblins?

Not really, but it would allow you to do the whole overpowered villain shtick where they laugh at your puny attempts at harming them and then they destroy you with their flashy cool attacks. I mean, who doesn't want to walk around with the All Shall Kneel zenith revelation always active?
