So Thorough reports feat. Via pathfinder Agent.
"Your reports are thorough and informative, and putting your thoughts to paper helps you retain the information. Keep track of each type of creature you successfully identify with Recall Knowledge. When attempting Recall Knowledge checks against creatures on your list in later encounters, you gain a +2 circumstance bonus, and you learn an additional fact about such creatures on a success."
Where are the "types" of creatures? is it related to the Traits they have?
i.e. Serpant Folk's "Humanoid, Mutant, Serpentfolk"
If you recall knowledged it. It would give you those 3 types?
or is there some other deliniation for that?

funfact... if you open that page and are zoomed in, or have the window smaller... it actually removes some of the Filters...
So the first time i looked I had it in a half screen while filling out something else. So... "type" was actually NOT listed. Even now if I open or if i make the window smaller that goes away...
but if its maximized I can see the Type filter.
Thats kind of annoying. Downside of that filter CSV style they'r doing on that website for p2e.
I have two windows of it open now and one has the Type and one does not. I kind of wish that excel style filter they use had more in window options. Maybe if I upload it to Google Sheets it would be easier for me to use?
Wish it just had an actual list of types but I don't seem to find one online. Might be in the book but I've left that at my parents home haha
Thanks!

Type is what you use to determine the relevant skill for Recall Knowledge.
The wording of the feat is ambiguous though as it later mentions "creatures on your list" and "such creatures" rather than "creatures of these types".
I would go by the Type used for RK, as anything that helps this underused highly immersive action is welcome at my table.

Do wonder which. One way has a lot more applicability than the other. Depending on specificity.
I just assumed it was going for the mechanic definition of Type of Creature.
I don't believe there are TYPES anymore. That's a 1st Edition thing. Now there are only TRAITS.
Modern 2nd Edition rules wouldn't be using such antiquated language, not unless a developer still had their head in the 1st Edition space and made a mistake.

Check AoN 2ed for Monsters (see link above). You just might be surprised.
That said, I agree. It should be Category rather than Type.
GM's choice in the end.

Huh.
At first I was going to say "the website is mistaken; that column shouldn't exist," but looking at my Bestiary hardcopies, they do seem to organize monsters by type in the Glossaries. Go figure.

Hm. Guess Its something to ask a GM prior for certainity for that game..
But Beastiary "type" is probably the best option? Wonder if I can find just a straight up list. Rather than that excel one. I don't own the beast hardcopy (really just the original release when the game came out and nothing else yet).
I love recall knowledge and love giving my Alchemist that kind of thing.Plus being a Beastiary creator is fun! and has some good RP motivation/fluff. Since the more accessible information on monsters are, the less often some poor kid in some farm will die to monsters~

A trait can have another name in addition to being a trait. For example, the Evocation trait on a Fireball is also known as its school. The Huge trait on a bulette is also known as its size. I guess the Animal trait on the bulette is also known as its type, and having identified a wolf (another animal) with Thorough Reports would give a +2 circumstance bonus on identifying a bulette.
