So in my game recently a question came about. Is it possible to change the disposition of an animal?
There is a skill that lets you use diplomacy on an animal to make an impression however that is before combat and if the animal is hostile it will not work. Previously you could use nature to try and calm an animal down is there a skill or rule that you would use to do that now? Or is it a feet? We couldn’t find any answer in the books, and we are trying to play the game as raw as possible

Certain abilities and feats allow you to use Diplomacy to make an impression with animals.
Generally, it appears (to me) that if you can speak with an animal, you can use diplomacy. Gnomes and Sprites have heritages and/or feats that allow a PC to speak with animals (or sub-sets of animals). Some archetypes also do... I think Beastmaster has an archetype feat that gives you permanent Speak with Animals. The Speak with Animals spell is another possibility (but limited in duration).
Then there are some abilities, like the Druid's class ability Wild Empathy, or the Ranger's class feat of the same name, which allow you to use diplomacy to make an impression and request using Diplomacy with animals even though you can't technically speak with them.
These all follow the rules for Diplomacy, so are not too useful once "combat" begins.
Last, you can change an animal's disposition towards you by treating it well (or bad) over time. If you kick your guard dog and starve it so it bites people, then it probably has a bad disposition towards you. If you pamper your cat and give it lots of tasty tidbits, catnip, etc., then it probably has a better disposition.
Using Nature to Command an Animal is different and I'm not going to get into that... I believe people's opinions vary hugely on what you can do.
