Are Pocket Editions DEAD for Starfinder?

I would really love some more Pocket Editions of the other Starfinder books, but it seems like we are only going to get the CRB.

When I looked at PF2 there are 6 books already available and another 3 with preorder dates. In relation to System release dates the PF2 CRB PE was released 7 months earlier than the SF CRB PE, this even after so many players had ask for them after launch. Yes, I understand they said they would not release a PE earlier than 18 months from release of the Hard Cover, and that PF is more popular than SF, but still many of us were willing to buy and even wanted to buy multiple copies of the SF CRB PE.

I in fact bought 5 copies of the SF CRB PE and gave away 4 copies during Displacement Con 2020. Those 5 copies are what I said I would buy as a minimum prior to them announcing the product.

I would love to buy even more Pocket Editions of the other SF books as I plan to have them as Store Copies at the store I run Society games. I have already purchased most all the PF 1st Ed PEs, but have not bought the 2nd Ed PEs since we don't play much PFS2 and at this point I don't want to support the PF2 PEs if we are not going to get more SF PEs.

Can someone from Paizo give us an explanation of why we are not seeing more SF PEs, other than the fact that PF2 is more popular? Are the sales not there, even for a minimum print run?

I do use my PDFs more, but there are times I either forget my tablet or the power dies and I forget my charger and having nice portable copies at the store or in my bag is wonderful. Heck, I can look info up in a book much faster than people with tablets and the PDF loaded.

A lot of them are a bit short for a pocket edition, but for example: I'd probably buy at least two copies of an AA1-3 combined pocket edition.

That is true and I would love a combined AA and Armory. Though, there are plenty of books in the PE's page size that are a forth of the thickness of the others and reasonably priced as well.

It would be hard to combine some of the other titles both due to context and tackling how to self them when it came to titles.

I have told myself that I will only buy pocket editions of books besides my AP subscription. They are just so cute!

I never thought of them as cute, but then again, I have never named any of my cars.

While I love my hardcovers, the PEs are so much more useful.

Wayfinders

Combined books (like AA1+AA2) would absolutely screw with page references in other books, though, so that's probably not how that's going to happen.

could just combine them but not change the page numbering, or have the 2nd book start on the back cover. Either way, just treat it as 2 separate books in one cover.

This is totally what I was thinking. They could add High Visibility dividers between each book within the PE. It is something I have seen before. These dividers could also be the thickness of 2-4 regular pages, but not much more than than otherwise it would mess with the binding.

This is how I have seen other game companies do combined books. You do not re-do the layouts, you are just combining them into a single cover.

Having 'omnibus' or close to it combination volumes in the pocket format would be rather *ideal* for travel -- it'd make it a lot easier to stow 1-2 Pocket Edition books for AA than 4 hardcovers.
