Confusion about cancelled subscriptions

I cancelled my subscriptions on the first because my group decided to stop playing together. Recently, I've started talks to start up another group, so I went to buy the Mwangi Expanse book in preparation, but the site says I've already bought it. Is the site mistaken, or did I not cancel in time and have the book on the way already?

I took a look at your subscriptions and it looks like they were all successfully cancelled on the first and the only active order with the Mwangi Expanse is pending order #36447647. Please let me know if I can assist you further :)

Thank you for responding, it is comforting to know they were successfully cancelled. However, the price for Despair on Danger Island was still withdrawn on my bank account before the cancellation went through. I can provide banking records if necessary, of course, but I was just wondering if I would be provided a refund for that, or if I could instead restart my Adventure Path subscription with that issue discounted.

Of course! The order for Despair on Danger Island was actually cancelled when your sub was canceled. What you saw on your end was an authorization. When an order is placed, we immediately authorize your card to ensure that it can be charged when we ship your order. An authorization is a non-monetary transaction that merely checks with your bank to ensure that the card is valid and has sufficient funds. Again, no money is charged to the card until we ship your order and since the order was cancelled your payment method was never charged and the product never shipped. Please let me know if there is anything more I can do to assist :)
