I wanted to make sure the vault was filled with stuff that was comparably dangerous to the Necronomicon, and already existed in Pathfinder lore. I should note that I could only really get away with this because my party is pathologically terrified of cursed artifacts, and I knew there was zero chance they'd touch most of this stuff. (I was pleasantly surprised when they actually tried the Deck of Many Things). If your players are the kind who will take anything that's not nailed down, there's some stuff in here that could potentially break your campaign. Anyway, this is what I came up with:
1. The King in Yellow - A bard can learn a Bardic Masterpiece play from this which something something Hastur. (My party didn't have a bard in it, so I didn't bother fleshing this one out.
2. Lost Gospel of Tabris - The original unabridged, which includes directions to find the Book of the Damned.
3. Xanthuun Tablets - Engraved tablets from the ancient cyclops empire, from Lost Treasures
4. The Deck of Many Things - The bloodrager in my party drew The Donjon.
5. Phylacetry of the Failed - A lich's phylacetry, from Artifacts and Legends.
6. The Dark Grimoire - A a minor artifact with rituals for summoning Mythos beings, from Horror Adventures.
7. Darcon Codicil - A tome containing the true names of many powerful fiends, compiled by one of the more cursed pharaohs of Osirion.
8. The Skull of Mushaug - Or Mashaug? My notes are hard to read for this one, and I don't recall where I got it from.
9. The Book of Eibon - No special powers, just tons of Mythos Lore. Easter egg for the Lovecraft geeks at your table.
10. The Revelations of Glaaki - Same as above.
11. Azlanti Neris - More Mythos lore, but from Azlanti.
12. Song of Extinction - Sheet music that, when combined with a music box (not located in the Vault) creates an evil artifact, also from Artifacts and Legends.
13. Whispers of the Immortal - Contains information on how to become a lich.
14. Book of Leng - More Mythos knowledge.
15. Ezida Scrolls - contains the location of where the Tarrasque slumbers.
16. Vuere's Demonic Taxonomy - another source of true names of powerful fiends.
17. The Burgundy Bowl - Rituals of self-mutilation with the intent of transforming yourself into a kyton.
18. Book of Serpents, Ash, and Acorns - Sentient book that knows the secrets of time travel.
